Summer 2019 Junior Volunteer Program

patient and volunteerIf you are looking for a unique opportunity to serve others this summer, consider volunteering for UofL Hospital and UofL James Graham Brown Cancer Center.

Teens between the age of 16 and 18 are invited to apply to participate in our Summer 2019 Junior Volunteer Program. There will be three sessions, each lasting for two weeks:

  • Session 1 – June 17 – 28
  • Session 2 – July 8 – 19
  • Session 3 – July 22 – Aug. 2

Volunteers must be available every day of the session they choose (volunteers may do more than one session if openings are available). They will be either at the hospital or the cancer center from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. This includes:

  • 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Volunteer assignment
  • Noon – 12:45 p.m. – Lunch (lunch ticket provided)
  • 1 – 2 p.m. – Career exploration session

Apply today for a junior volunteer summer session that truly will make a difference! Applications can be completed online. Please put the session (or sessions) you are interested in attending in the box marked "Anything else?”

All applicants will be interviewed. Upon admittance into the Junior Volunteer Program, you will be required to:

  • Supply immunization records
  • Have a two-step TB test

All applications must be submitted no later than May 17 to be eligible. There are a limited number of spaces available for each session. Volunteers will be told of their acceptance by June 7.
